As a robot locomotion engineer focusing on software and controls you will help design and implement real-time control systems for our quadruped robot Artaban. Though we would welcome candidates with prior experience in legged locomotion, you should not be discouraged by the lack of it. This project is unique and for this role solid background in system modeling and optimisation techniques is the main prerequisite. For our team we seek people with passion, creativity and the ability to learn.

Day to day activities:

• Modelling complex legged robots
• Developing whole body motion planning algorithms
• Implementing state of the art motion control algorithms
• Evaluating approaches in simulation and transferring algorithms to real hardware
• Optimising implementations for real time systems

Required skills:

• MSc. or PhD. degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science or related field
• Strong programming skills in C++, Python
• Solid background in system modelling and experience with optimisation techniques
• Understanding of control theory and state estimation
• Proven ability to implement theory into code
• Proactive team working and mission-driven attitude

Desired skills:

• Experience with model predictive control
• Experience with programming for real robotic hardware
• Familiarity with Linux shell and Networking
• Experience with revision control systems (git)
• Knowledge of ROS
• Knowledge of Gazebo
